Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration (CONAHEC) is offering two US $5,000 scholarships per semester to students from Mexico the U.S. and Canada to study abroad for a semester onboard this exciting program! The Scholar Ship is a semester-long academic program aboard a dedicated passenger ship that traverses the globe as an oceangoing campus. Students and staff from around the world together form a transnational learning community designed to develop their intercultural competencies and leadership skills. The Department of Defense (DoD) is proud to offer scholarships to undergraduate, master's and doctoral students who have demonstrated ability and special aptitude for training in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) fields. The DoD also offers them career opportunities to continue their research as civilian employees of a DoD laboratory after graduation. The SMART online application is open each August through December. The application will reopen August 15, 2008 and close December 15, 2008. Awardees will be announced in the spring of 2009 and funding wll begin August 2009. Visit the website for more information.

The Science and Engineering Apprentice Program (SEAP) provides an opportunity for students to participate in research at a Department of Navy (DoN) laboratory during the summer. Click here for website and to apply.

The East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes provide U.S. graduate students in science and engineering The primary goals of EAPSI are to introduce students to East Asia and Pacific science and engineering in the context of a research setting, and to help students initiate scientific relationships that will better enable future collaboration with foreign counterparts. The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) sponsors a Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at a number of Naval R D centers and laboratories. The program is designed to significantly increase the involvement of creative and highly trained scientists and engineers from academia and industry to scientific and technical areas of interest and relevance to the Navy.
